Orientalised food?

On sunday, myself and A had a nice dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. The restaurant was suprisingly quiet. It was probably because it was quite early when we had our dinner. CPK was having a promotion.

The sign on the table read -

" For any regular pasta or pizza purchased, you are entitled to 50% off any of the following pasta "

The following pasta were - [ i can't remember them exactly, but it was somewhat like this ]

1. Fetucinne with garlic chicken in creamy sauce
2. Spaghetti with meatballs
3. Linguine with creamy herb sauce
4. Kung Pao spaghetti with chicken

The sign showed a picture of 2 types of pasta which were on offer, and one of them was the Kung Pao spaghetti with shrimps.

So, A then called upon the waiter to place our orders.

'Will we get the 50% discount if we ordered this?' A said as he pointed to the picture on the sign which showed the Kung Pao spaghetti with shrimps.
'No, you don't get a discount for that, only if you order the one with chicken?', the waiter explains.

So I settled for the chicken instead, I was not intending to go for the shrimps anyway. But apparently, A was.

It is somewhat bizarre that the sign showing the offer clearly referred to the chicken pasta as one of the choices on discount, but it showed a picture of the shrimp pasta. A was torn between his two selections of pizza, but he settled for the 'Peking Duck' pizza. Initially, I was not confident that the pizza would be tasty, but I did like the sound of its description.

'Layered with cheese and peking duck with Hoi Sin sauce and crispy wantons.'

Turns out, both the kung pao pasta and peking duzk pizza were really good. Talk about italian food being 'orientalised'.
